As it stands, Wilcox said, Montana Republicans previously had filled only 415 precinct committee slots. With Republicans wanting a chance to vote in the caucuses, they have now filled 1,133 posts of the 1,714 available.I'll go out on a limb and say Ron Paul will win this thing. Why? We have 718 new members of central committees around the state. There will be 1,817 total voters. We have five candidates (with Alan Keyes). I suspect that the Ron Paul supporters have been driving the grassroots surge all along. Other caucus voters are weighing ideology and practicality. Do the math!
Meanwhile, Paul wins Judith Basin County.
Stay tuned...
UPDATE: Ron Paul wins - Missoula County! Romney wins state.

For Powell County. 28 eligible voters with 27 votes cast:
Romney 14
McCain 8
Ron Paul 3
Huckabee 2
I hope your Ron Paul prediciton is correct, but the Romney campaign was also working hard to fill those positions. As I recall, we filled 15 of 24 Precinct positions with maybe 7 of those being new people.
Romney won the Montana GOP caucus but it looks like a bad night for him overall. Huckabee now appears to be the stronger challenger to McCain.
Yeah - I had the county right, wrong on the state. I guess I assumed that if Missoula Co went this far over to Paul, that the rest of the state would for sure.
Paul was 45 here, 42 for Rommey, 7 McCain, I think 3 for Huckabee.
That was, 45 for Ron Paul..
Wish that had held for the rest of the state.
I wonder how the other "super" caucuses played out - like Yellowstone. I know they added a ton of new people.
I just fail to see the attraction of McCain. I'm pretty confident when I predict that if the Republicans nominate a pro war candidate, with 70% of the population against the war, the Republicans will not win in November.
The numbers of Democrats voting today far exceeded the number of Republican voters. While it doesn't really matter today, it will matter in November.
Republican Romney to suspend presidential campaign
